Kunst ist wie alles Geschmackssache – und das Gute daran: für jede geschmackliche Vorliebe ist etwas dabei, ob Kunstliebhaber-in oder nicht, denn Geschmäcker sind so vielfältig wie wir Menschen, und Vielfalt schützt vor Einfalt.
Mein Geschmack ist so ungewöhnlich wie gewöhnungsbedürftig und setzt sich aus Geschmacksrichtungen zusammen, die nicht immer richtig gut zusammenpassen – dafür ist das Geschmackserlebnis umso besser.
Künstlerisch wie kulinarisch.
Auch dass mir weder Fisch noch Fleisch schmecken, kommt mir zupass, bin ich ja selbst weder Fisch noch Fleisch.
Oder aber beides zugleich, denn Gegensätze ziehen sich an – ziehen mich, Fleisch gewordener Widerspruch, magisch an.
Neither nor and as well as
Art, like everything else, is a matter of taste—and the good thing about that is: there’s something for everyone, whether you’re an art lover or not, because tastes are as diverse as we are, and diversity protects against monotony.
My taste is as unusual as it is challenging to get used to, and it’s composed of flavors that don’t always go well together—but that makes the taste experience all the more enjoyable.
Artistically as well as culinarily.
The fact that I like neither fish nor meat suits me just fine, since I myself am neither fish nor fowl.
Or perhaps both at once, because opposites attract—attract me, the embodiment of contradiction, like a magnet.
So wird das, was mein Wesen ausmacht, wesentlicher Bestandteil meiner körperbetonten Bilder, die grundsätzlich Gegensätzlichkeit verkörpern.
Denn zu vereinen, was unvereinbar scheint, macht das Gewohnte und das Gewöhnliche manchmal zum Außergewöhnlichen.
Indem ich hier etwas Menschliches, da etwas Tierisches, dort etwas Pflanzliches auf kunstvolle Art zusammensetze, mache ich etwas völlig Neuartiges daraus, denaturiere ich natürliche Arten, bis sie als menschliche Mimosen, Tiermenschen oder androgyne Mischwesen ihr Unwesen treiben.
Der Fantasie sind dabei keine Grenzen gesetzt – das ist das einzige „Gesetz“.

… my essence becomes an essential component of my corporeal images, which fundamentally embody contrast.
For uniting what seems incompatible sometimes transforms the familiar and the ordinary into the extraordinary.
By artfully combining something human here, something animal there, something plant over there, I create something entirely new, denaturing natural forms until they are reborn as human mimosas, animal-human hybrids, or androgynous beings.
There are no limits to the imagination – that is the only „law.“
Androgyne Kontradiktion
Ich bin eine, die immer alle möglichen Möglichkeiten durchdenkt – und was nur in Gedanken möglich, im realen Leben aber unmöglich zu realisieren ist, das forme ich auf dem Papier. Denn da sind alle Formen möglich – so unmöglich oder unförmig sie auch sein mögen.
Die Form aber, die ich besonders mag, ist das Androgyne – das nicht nur in meiner Zeichenkunst, sondern in meinem ganzen, im Zeichen der Kunst gelebten Leben im Vordergrund steht. Und einmal mehr für die eigene Widersprüchlichkeit steht.
Androgynous contrarity
I’m someone who always considers all possible possibilities – and what’s only possible in thought, but impossible to realize in real life, I shape on paper. Because there, all forms are possible – however impossible or misshapen they may be.
But the form I particularly like is the androgynous – which is central not only to my drawings, but to my entire life, lived under the banner of art. And, once again, it represents my own inherent contradictions.
Doch statt maskulines „Andros“ und feminines „Gyn“ einander anzugleichen, sodass beide gleichberechtigt sind und keine Ausformung die andere dominiert, wie es typisch für das androgyne Individuum ist, habe ich meine individuelle Form von androgyn gefunden: eine Art „androgenes Gyn“, eine Frau mit männlichen Muskeln, mütterlicher Brust und femininer Anmut.
But instead of …
… harmonizing masculine „andros“ and feminine „gyn“ so that both are equal and neither dominates the other, as is typical for the androgynous individual, I have found my own individual form of androgyny: a kind of „androgenic gyn,“ a woman with masculine muscles, maternal breasts, and feminine grace.
Immerhin sind es männliche Frauen und keine dominanten Männer, die mein Kunst.leben seit jeher dominieren, die Mut zur Stärke haben und diese innere Stärke mitunter durch maskuline Muskeln nach außen verkörpern.
Und während das Muskulöse für das männliche Andros steht, verkörpert eine feminine Brust das mütterlich Nährende, das Gyne, das den Muskel kräftigt und das Selbst stärkt.

… is masculine women, not dominant men, who have always dominated my (artistic) life, women who have the courage to be strong and who sometimes embody this inner strength outwardly through masculine muscles.
And while the muscular represents the masculine andros, a feminine breast embodies the maternally nurturing, the gyn, which strengthens the muscle and empowers the self.
So sind es wieder einmal die scheinbar unvereinbaren Gegensätze, die einander befruchten, einander bedingen – und vor allen Dingen etwas eigenartig Neuartiges hervor bringen, das nicht immer „hetero“, aber doch immer heterogen ist: die Frucht der Inspiration.

… is the seemingly irreconcilable opposites that fertilize each other, condition each other – and above all, bring forth something strangely new that is not always “hetero”, but always heterogeneous: the fruit of inspiration.
